The city of Lugano has a international character, because of the mix of different european cultures that here join together.
The history of Lugano starts in the 875, with the first information found in a document talking about "Sancti Laurentii in Luano". In the Middle Ages Como and Milano had a big interest in the city; in the XVI century it passed under the Swizterland domain.
Lugano is above all a turistic place, thanks to the beautiful of the surroundings, the mild climate and the quality of the accomodation.
It is also an important communication node on the San Gottardo line and the place of important factories.
