The Dome and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud

The Chapel is dedicated to the relic held to be the burial cloth in which Jesus's body was wrapped after the crucifixion.
The entrance is through the cathedral but the chapel is originally built as an integral part of Palazzo Reale.
The Shroud is exhibited on very rare occasions (the next exhibition will be on 2025) but a photographic copy is on show in the first chapel on the left, inside the cathedral.

Over the entrance there is a picture, copy of the Ultima Cena by Leonardo da Vinci (the original is in Milan, in the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie).
