The Piazza del Popolo ends at the North side with the Porta del Popolo, and at the east side by the Pinci Promenade. It was the location for popular plays, and an exposition hall. From 1400’s to 1800’s the reconstruction of the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo and the placement of the Flaminian obelisk at the centre of the piazza changed firmly its aspect.
