Thanks to its geographical
position, Laveno Mombello is the fulcrum of the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore.
The ferries of the lake Maggiore Boat Service leave every 20 minutes from
Laveno transhipping passengers and vehicles on the Piedmontese shore and
towards the most important tourist localities of Verbano, beginning from
the famous Isole Borromee (Borromean Islands).
To see: Who loves nature will not certainiy miss the opportunity to go
on 'Sasso del Ferro" which dominates Laveno from a height of 1063 metres.
The peak can be reached through the cableway or walking on the ancient
mule-track which leads to the hamlet "Casere".
