Malcesine is one of the most well-equipped and famous holiday centre on the east side of Lake of Garda. The mild climate allows the growth of many flowers and plants of the Orto Botanico, located on Monte Baldo (1800 mt); here, in winter, you can practice ski on 11 km of piste, reachable by the cableway.
The Castello Scaligero is a fortress which has been built around 500 AC, and has been rebuild in 1300 by Della Scala family.
From 1405 to 1797 Malcesine has been under the Venice's domain; then until 1866 was a part of Austrian empire.
From the castello Scaligero now you can admire an interesting collection of nature pieces coming from gardesan territory. We suggest you to go to the top of the tower, to have a wonderful view of the panorama of the lake.
