Lake Garda, called also BenĂ co, is the biggest lake of Italy.
The surface is about 370 km2 and the maximun depth is 410 meters.

How to reach the lake

Air
If you come to Italy by air you can land to the Villafranca airport in Verona (about 23 km southeast of the lake) or the Montichiari airport in Brescia (about 30 km southwest of the lake). You can take the bus for many important towns of the lake.

Train
Desenzano and Peschiera are directly linked to the railway Milano - Venezia

Car
The A22 highway Brennero - Modena has two exits for the lake: Rovereto sud for the north of the lake, Affi for the south of the lake.
The A4 highway Milano - Venezia has four exits for the south of the lake: Brescia est, Desenzano del Garda, Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda.
However the suggestion is to use the public resources (train, bus and boat) to visit the lake due to the traffic and the parking desease.
